Animated Butterfly

 [Transparent Background]

You will need:-

PSP 9 [will work in any version but the screenshots may differ]

Animation Shop

A butterfly tube.

Go to 'File' New' and open a 'New Image' 300 x 300 pixels, transparent.

Click on the ' Picture Tubes Tool'  and click on the image which appears in the preview window to open the menu.

Select your butterfly image, you might have to scale it down.

Click once on your blank image to place the tube.

Right click ' Raster1' in your 'Layer' palette and select 'Duplicate',

right click the 'Copy of Raster 1' and choose 'Duplicate' again. You now have 3 layers in your 'Layer' palette.

'X out' the 'Copy (2) of Raster1' layer by clicking on the little 'eye' at the end of the row.

...... and click on the 'Copy of Raster1' layer to activate.

Click on the 'Raster Deform Tool'.......

......and a box will appear around your butterfly.

Click hold and drag each side of the butterfly inwards using the nodes at each side.

You may have to move the image slightly using the centre of the 'Raster Deform Tool'

to centre the image and line up the body.

'Un X' the 'Copy (2) of Raster1' layer and click on it to activate.

Drag each side of the butterfly in a little further than the last one.

Go to 'File 'Save as' and save as a 'Paint Shop Pro Image (*.pspimage),(*.psp) file.

NB : Copy/pasting the layers across to Animation Shop won't work in this instance as the image is on a transparent background and won't animate correctly...it has to be saved as a *.psp file

Go to 'File' 'Jasc Software Products' and open Animation Shop.

In Animation Shop go to 'File' 'Open' and find and open your saved file.

Click on the 'View Animation' icon to see your animated butterfly, click on the icon again to close it.

If you wish to slow it down, go to'Edit' 'Select All' [which selects all your frames ] then go to 'Animation' 'Frame Properties' where you can alter the display time.

The higher the number the slower the animation. Ive altered mine from size 10 to size 20.

To finish go to 'File' 'Save as' and save as a 'Compuserve Graphics Interchange (*.gif)'
