This tutorial was written for PSP vers 9 but will work in any version.

You will need :-

PSP9

Animation Shop

The VanDerLee plugin 'Snowflakes' which you can download from its site here. Download it to your Plugins folder.

An image of your choice to add the snow effect to.

If you would like to use the graphic used in this tutorial, right click the graphic below and 'Save As' to a folder on your pc.

Open your PSP and go to 'File' Browse' and locate the graphic you want to use.

Go to 'Effects' 'Plugins' 'VanDerLee' 'Snowflakes'

You can play about with the sizes of the snowflakes and the amount etc but just to start with  set your settings to these.......

...and click 'OK', the snowflakes will have appeared on your graphic.

Now go to 'Edit' 'Copy'..........over in Animation Shop click 'Edit' 'Paste' 'As New Animation'

Go back to PSP, and click 'Edit' 'Undo Snowflakes'.

Now go again to 'Effects' 'Plugins' 'Snowflakes' and alter the 'Random Seed'. I've altered it to 5 but you can play about with this.

'OK' it

Go to 'Edit' 'Copy'....and over to Animation Shop and click on 'Edit' 'Paste' and this time choose 'After Current Frame'

If you go to 'View' and click 'Normal Viewing (1:1) you will see your two frames side by side.

We will leave the animation at 2 frames for now

though you can repeat the the above making as many frames as you like.

Click on the 'View Animation' icon     to preview your animation  and click it again to close the preview.

If your animation is going too fast go to 'Edit' 'Select All' which will select all your frames and they will surround in blue....

then go to 'Animation' 'Frame Properties' and you will see your display time.

You will see its set to '10'.The higher the number you set here, the slower your animation will run.

Alter the time to about '25' and 'Ok' it.

Click your 'View Animation' icon again to check it and click it again to close it.

If you're happy with your animation go to 'File' 'Save as', give your animation a name

and save as a 'CompuServe Graphics Interchange (*.gif)

Go 'Next' 'Next' 'Next' 'Finish' through the optimisation.
