You will need:-

~ PSP9 ~ [works in any version]

~ Animation Shop~

Visit Corel.com to download a free trial of the latest version of psp and to purchase Animation Shop

~ 2 different coloured glitter files. ~

This tutorial is written for glitters with 3 frames

 Ive used one gold and one red.

There are many sites on the net which offer these free to download for your own personal use or why not have a go at making your own? Its easy to do and we have a tutorial here for 'Making Your own Glitter'

~ A font of your choice. ~

There are many font sites on the net, download and save your chosen font to a folder on your pc. Open the font and either leave it onscreen or reduce it to your taskbar. While it remains open the font will appear in the fonts menu when you come to use the 'Text Tool' . The font used here is Fiolex Girls

~~~~~~~~~~~
As with all things PSP there's more than one way of doing things.
Ill show you one way, applying each colour glitter one at a time. Eventually as you get more used to PSP you will find your own way.
~~~~~~~~

Go to 'File' 'New' and open a 'New Image' 450 x 300 pixels, Raster Background, Transparent.

In the 'Materials' palette, 'Foreground and Stroke Properties' box, select the 'Colour' icon [solid black dot]

 Click on the colour which appears in the box to open the 'Materials Properties' colour menu.

 Select a colour for your background and 'OK' it. It will appear in the box in your 'Foreground and Stroke Properties' box' . Ive used white here but the glitters show up beautifully on darker backgrounds.

Using the 'Floodfill Tool' click on your blank canvas to floodfill with the colour.

Go to 'Layers' and 'New Raster Layer'

Open your Animation Shop.
[ 'File' 'Jasc Software Products' 'Launch Animation Shop']
In Animation Shop, go to 'File' Browse' and locate the first of your chosen glitters, double click to open it.

Click on 'Edit' 'Select All' to select all the 3 frames of the glitter. It will surround in blue

.....then to 'Edit' again and to 'Copy''

Back in PSP click on 'Edit' 'Paste' 'Paste Animation as Multiple Images'. You will see each frame of your glitter open in its own little window.

NB Earlier versions of PSP do not have the 'Paste Animation as Multiple Images' option. You have to open your glitter as usual in AS, click on the first frame to activate, then go to 'Edit' 'Copy'. In PSP click on 'Edit' 'Paste as New Image'. Go back to AS and click the 2nd glitter frame to activate, 'Edit' 'Copy' and in PSP click 'Edit' 'Paste' 'Paste as New Image'. Do the same with the 3rd frame.

Go back to Animation Shop and choose the 2nd of your glitters.
Click on 'Edit' 'Select All', 'Edit' 'Copy'
Go over to PSP and 'Edit' 'Paste' 'Paste Animation as Multiple Images' and you will see each frame of your second glitter open in its own little window.

Click on the bar at the top of your main image to activate it.[turns blue]
In the 'Materials' palette...'Foreground and Stroke Properties' box, click on the colour which appears in the box to open the 'Materials Properties' colour menu again and select a colour for the outline of your text.
You can choose a colour for the 'Background and Fill' too although this colour wont matter too much as it will be covered in the glitter.
With 'Raster 2' layer highlighted in your 'Layer' palette,click on the 'Text Tool'

In the 'Tool Options' palette make sure the 'Line Style' is set to '+Solid' and not a broken line. Set 'Create As' to 'Floating'. Click the down arrow at the end of the 'Font' bar and select your chosen font. Select the size you want... Ive used size 100 and even
though it doesnt appear in the drop down menu, if you click inside the bar where it has the number you can type in the size you want to use.Set the 'Stroke Width' to '1.0'

'

Click on your main image to open the 'Text Entry' box and type in your text and 'Apply'.
Your text will now appear on your blank canvas surrounded by 'Marching Ants'.

Run your mouse over the text until you see the cursor change to a 'Move' icon , then click hold and drag your text into position.

to open  'Materials Properties' patterns.

Click on the pattern which appears there.......

........ to open the menu.
You will see all 3 frames of both your glitters.

Click on the first of the gold patterns to select, and 'OK'it

 It will now appear in the 'Foreground and Stroke Properties' box in the 'Material' palette

Using the 'Floodfill Tool'  click inside each letter to fill with the first frame of the gold glitter.

Go to the 'Materials' palette, click on the glitter showing in the 'Foreground and Stroke Properties' box to open the 'Materials Properties' again, and locate the 2nd of your gold glitter frames. Dont count the one marked 'Current Pattern' as that is just a preview to show the one in current use.

Use the 'Floodfill Tool'  and click inside each letter with the 2nd frame of gold glitter.
'X' out 'Glit2' and 'UnX' 'Glit3', click on it to activate.

We do exactly the same as for the first colour, gold.

In the 'Layer' palette, 'X' out the top 2 layers[Glit2 and Glit3] and as before click on 'Glit1' to activate.
With the 'Magic Wand Tool'...click inside the areas you wish to fill with the second of your glitters, in this case its the hearts.

Use the 'Floodfill Tool' to fill each of the hearts or your selected areas with the second glitter.

'X' out 'Glit1'and 'unX' 'Glit2', clicking on it to activate.

In the 'Materials' palette, locate the second frame of your red glitter and floodfill each of your selected areas.

'X' out 'Glit2', 'un X' 'Glit3'...click on it to activate.

 Find the last frame of your red glitter and floodfill each selected area.

'Selections' 'Select None' to deselect.
Un X all layers.

Use the 'Crop Tool'  and draw it round your image, click on the 'Tick'  to apply the crop.

In the 'Layer' palette, click on 'Glit1' to activate it and go to 'Edit' 'Copy'
